ICC Moot Court Competition

01/05/2015

We are delighted to bring to your attention the International Criminal Court (ICC) Moot Court Competition, which is set to take pace in The Hague, the Netherlands in May 2015.

The establishment of the world’s first International Criminal Court provided a fantastic opportunity to further support the rule of international law and the fight against impunity, by garnering a youth-led interest. For this reason, the Grotius Centre for International Legal Studies – Leiden University organizes the ICC Moot Court Competition, a large scale moot court simulating the proceedings of the ICC.

The Competition consists of a six-day educational and social program, which brings together students of diverse backgrounds and cultures to The Hague. The final round of the Competition is expected to take place in an actual ICC courtroom, with ICC judges adjudicating. More information about the ICC Moot Court Competition can be found in our Information Booklet or on our website.

This year the Competition attracted 47 teams from 34 countries and six continents worldwide, so make sure your university will be a participant in the 2015 edition!

Registration for the Competition opens on 22 September 2014 and closes on 24 October 2014. More information on the registration procedure can be found here.

We look forward to receiving your registration in a few weeks, but if you have any questions or concerns in the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact us by email (l.louman@cdh.leidenuniv.nl), or by phone (+31 (0)70 8009757).
