The 2019 edition of the UNESCO King Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa Prize for the use of Information and Communication Technologies in education are now open.

UNESCO is pleased to inform you that the nominations for the 2019 edition of the UNESCO King Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa Prize for the use of Information and Communication Technologies in education are now open.

 

Please find attached a letter by the Assistant Director-General for Priority Africa and External Relations.

 

Established in 2005, the Prize rewards projects that use new technologies to enhance teaching, learning and overall education performance.

The theme of 2019 Prize is “The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to innovate education, learning and teaching”.

 

Two awards will be granted, and each recipient will receive a monetary award of USD 25,000 during the Award Ceremony at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris.

 

·         The nomination process takes place via an online platform;

·         An applicant can request the creation of a user account through this link: http://www.unesco.org/ict-ed-prize/register (see guidelines here);

·         The online submissions in English or French together with a nomination letter (as attachment) issued by an NGO in official partnership with UNESCO should be submitted via the online platform by 31 October 2019 (midnight, Paris time).
