Barcelona – A delegation of the Association
of Arab Universities, chaired by the Secretary General of the Association Dr.
Sultan Abu Orabi Al Adwan, and including the Assistant Secretary General of the
Association Dr. Mohammad Rafat Mahmoud and Director of the Association’s
General Secretariat Mrs. May Wahbeh, participated in the launch of the project Modernization of Institutional Management
of Innovation and Research in Southern Neighboring Countries, Mimir, on
29/2/2016.
The participants discussed the Project’s
objectives and strategic plan, as well as the position of the management in
academic research institutions in Europe. Presentationswere also made by
academic research management in the Hashemite Kingdom of
Jordan and the Kingdom of Morocco.
The project launch activities were attended
by, in addition to the Association of Arab Universities, the Ministry of Higher
Education and Scientific Research, Balqa Applied University and the Science and
Technology University, from Jordan. From Morocco, they were attended by the
Ministry of Higher Education, Mohammad V University, IbnTufail University, and
Sultan Moulay Suleiman University. From the European side, the attendees were
the Association of European Universities, the Mediterranean Universities
Association, University of Rome, Sapienza University, Milano University in
Italy, the Catholic University Louvain in Belgium and Montpellier University in
France.
Moreover, the delegation of the Association
discussed with Barcelona University the special arrangements for the convention
of the Third Arab European Conference to be held between 25 and 27 May 2016 in
Barcelona University, which holds the Permanent Secretariat of the Conference.
The Conference is being held in cooperation between the Association of Arab
Universities, the European University Association and Barcelona
University.
