Kafr ElSheikh University (Arab Republic of Egypt): In
response to the request by Kafr ElSheikh University in the Arab Republic of
Egypt to the General Secretariat of the Association of Arab Universities to
become a member of the Association, a specialized committee was formed to assess
the University. The committee was formed under the chairmanship of the
Assistant Secretary General of the Association Dr. Mohammad Rafat Mahmoud with
former president of the University of Jordan Dr. Abdul Rahim Al Huneiti and
President of Assiut University Dr. Ahmad Abdu Gueaues as its members.
Dr. Rafat said that the committee visited Kufur
Sheikh University on 12/7/2016 and toured its faculties, divisions, facilities,
halls, and support service buildings. He stated that the University has a
strong infrastructure and distinguished educational capacities, in addition to
offering academic programs that are in line with the requirements of the
University’s geographic environment, such as fisheries, various agricultural
specializations, and veterinary medicine.
He added that the University has substantial
research capacities in several scientific specializations, such as
nanotechnology and renewable energy. It is also equipped with the necessary
physical requirements, including technological equipment, machines, and
laboratories, coupled with an elite specialized and qualified faculty. Moreover,
the University enjoys academic and research relations with Europe.
It is noteworthy that the University was
established in 2006 and graduated over 43,000 BA students and 1,600 MA and PhD students.
