The
Association of Arab Universities Organizes the Fourth International Conference
on Arab Impact Factor: Classification of Arab Universities
Dr. Amr
Ezzat Salama, Secretary General of the association of Arab Universities, opened
the 4th International Conference on Arab Impact Factor, in the presence of
international, regional and local representatives from various Arab and African
universities, scientific research institutions and various sectors of research,
academic, cultural and intellectual.
The
conference was attended by a number of Arab university presidents. The
conference discussed a number of ideas with researchers about the scientific
developments in the International Classification of Arab Journals and their
relation to the academic classification of Arab universities, documentation,
archiving and scientific publishing.
A number
of workshops and public lectures were held on the sidelines of the conference,
and the owner of the Scopes platform presented a detailed explanation of the Arab
Universities Association's initiative to establish a platform to maintain
production in Arabic, in accordance with international standards.
Dr. Amr
Salama stressed the importance of the Association's role in adopting and
assisting innovative ideas in the Arab world and the transformation of the
Association's strategy which aims to develop the Association's performance and
provide public and quality services to the higher education sector in the Arab
region.
Salama
highlighted the new projects being carried out by the Association, including an
agreement with El Sevier, owner of Scopus and Digital Commons. The agreement
aims to preserve the scientific production in Arabic and other languages
through the classification of Arab periodicals and magazines issued by the
Association of Arab universities, or its academic institutions, in addition to
the publications of Arab universities and members of the Association.
