Dr. Hamidi Assumes Duties at the Association of Arab Universities and Praises Jordanian Achievements

The Assistant Secretary General of the Association of Arab Universities Dr. Khamisi Hamidi Al Jazairi described the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II as wise and brave in championing Arab rights, especially Jerusalem and the Palestinian cause.

He congratulated His Majesty and the Jordanian and Arab people on the occasion of the New Year, wishing for continued blessings in the New Year.

In his first interview after assuming his duties at the Association’s headquarters in Amman, he expressed his happiness at working in Jordan alongside elite Jordanian and Arab academics to serve generations in various areas of the Arab World.

He praised the academic and research developments in Jordan following the establishment of public and private universities as well as the Research and Development Center. He stressed that the higher education policy in Jordan follows a studied and comprehensive vision.

Dr. Hamidi, who represents for the first time Maghreb Region in the General Secretariat of the Association, also praised the urban developments and achievements in various areas, especially security, in a region plagued with constant turmoil where Jordan is an oasis of safety and security.

Before joining the Association, Dr. Hamidi was President of Algeria University and supervised hundreds of graduate students. He has many publications in the fields of arts and humanitarian sciences, and was Director of the Global Soufi Rhetoric Journal, in addition to chairing hundreds of Arab and international academic and literary seminars.

It is noteworthy that Dr. Hamidi won in the new general secretariat elections for the first time on behalf of the Arab Maghreb region, at the conclusion of the

Fiftieth Conference of the Association of Arab Universities, held in the UAE with over 70 presidents and directors in attendance.
