AArU Advances Khorfakkan University’s Membership Application

Khorfakkan, Sharjah, UAE | 14 September 2026

As part of the procedures for evaluating new membership applications, a committee from the Association of Arab Universities (AArU) visited Khorfakkan University to review its application for membership in the Association.

The committee was chaired by H.E. Prof. Amr Ezzat Salama, Secretary-General of AArU, and included Prof. Mohammad Al-Widyan, President of Amman Arab University, and Prof. Hamid Al Nuaimi, Advisor to the Chancellor of the University of Sharjah.

The delegation was received by Prof. Ali Hilal Al-Naqbi, Chancellor of Khorfakkan University. During the visit, the committee reviewed the University’s membership application and relevant documentation and explored its academic programs, educational and research capabilities, facilities, and infrastructure in line with AArU’s membership requirements and standards.

The visit was also attended by Ms. Lina Al-Bitar, Director of General Administration (AArU) , and Prof. Hussein Al-Mahdi, Dean of Academic Support Services at the University of Sharjah.

The visit reflects AArU commitment to expanding its network of Arab universities and strengthening academic, scientific, and research cooperation across the Arab higher education community.
