AArU and Clarivate Explore Cooperation in Research

As part of its efforts to strengthen research and expand partnerships with leading international institutions, the Association of Arab Universities (AArU) held a virtual meeting between Prof. Anas Ratib Al-Soud, Executive Director of AArU, and Mr. Ayman Akl, Director of Consulting & Analytics for the Middle East, North Africa and Türkiye at Clarivate, the global company specializing in research data and analytics.
The meeting explored areas of mutual interest, including research data, research intelligence, and academic and research performance analysis, as well as potential initiatives that could enable AArU member universities to benefit from Clarivate’s expertise and specialized solutions.
The discussions also highlighted Clarivate’s research analytics solutions and tools, including Web of Science and InCites, which support institutions in evaluating research performance, identifying research trends and collaborations, and using data and indicators to inform academic and research planning.
Both sides discussed opportunities to organize specialized programmes and meetings for Arab universities, researchers and academic leaders, focusing on research intelligence, data analytics, and the effective use of research indicators and evidence.
The meeting reaffirmed the importance of continued coordination and practical cooperation, supporting Arab universities in strengthening their research capabilities and benefiting from global expertise and advances in research data and analytics.
AArU remains committed to expanding its international partnerships and creating new opportunities for member universities to access global expertise, tools and knowledge.
