Amman, 11 September 2026
As part of the Association of Arab Universities’ efforts to expand international cooperation and strengthen connections between Arab universities and their counterparts worldwide, discussions were held on advancing academic relations between Arab and Argentine universities and preparing a dedicated session within the 4th Regional Dialogue on Education and Development, to be held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from 13–17 December 2026, with the participation of representatives from Argentine universities.
In this context, Prof. Anas Ratib Al-Soud, Executive Director of the Association of Arab Universities, held an online meeting with OBREAL and representatives of Argentine universities to discuss the proposed session and areas of mutual interest. The meeting explored opportunities for institutional partnerships in higher education and research, exchange of expertise and knowledge, and new avenues for collaboration between Arab and Argentine universities.
The 4th Regional Dialogue on Education and Development brings together education ministers, senior government officials, higher education leaders, and development partners from Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, Europe, China, and the Arab world to exchange policies and experiences and discuss shared priorities in higher education and development.
The Arab-Argentine session will provide a platform for governments, higher education institutions, and development partners to exchange experiences and explore opportunities for joint academic and research partnerships.
The Dialogue is co-organized by the Association of Arab Universities, African Union Commission, CELAC Presidency represented by Uruguay, Association of African Universities (AAU), and OBREAL, with the participation and support of other international institutions and organizations.
