H.E. Prof. Amr Ezzat Salama, Secretary-General of the Association of Arab Universities (AArU), received at the AArU Secretariat General in Amman Prof. Safwan Al-Sheyab, Director of the Arab Council for Training and Student Creativity, and Eng. Jihad Al-Kharraz, Assistant Director of the Council, in the presence of Prof. Anas Ratib Al-Soud, Executive Director of AArU, and Ms. Lina Al-Bitar, Director General of Administration.
At the beginning of the meeting, Prof. Salama congratulated Prof. Al-Sheyab on his appointment as Director of the Arab Council for Training and Student Creativity, wishing him success in his new responsibilities. He highlighted the important role of the Council in supporting Arab university students, developing their skills, and expanding opportunities for training, creativity, and innovation.
The meeting discussed the Council’s priorities for the coming period and ways to strengthen coordination and integration between the Council and the AArU Secretariat General. It also reviewed proposals to develop training programmes, student activities and initiatives, and expand the participation of Arab universities.
The meeting underscored the importance of developing high-quality programmes and initiatives that respond to the needs of Arab university students, strengthen their skills and capabilities, and foster a culture of creativity, innovation and initiative, in line with the rapid developments in higher education and the evolving requirements of the labour market.
The participants also reaffirmed their support for expanding the Council’s programmes and activities and strengthening communication and the exchange of expertise and experiences among Arab universities. This will provide students with broader opportunities to benefit from joint training programmes and student initiatives, while enriching their university experience.
The Arab Council for Training and Student Creativity is one of the specialised councils affiliated with the Association of Arab Universities. Based at the University of Jordan in Amman, the Council works to strengthen cooperation among Arab universities in student training and creativity, facilitate the exchange of expertise and experiences, and implement programmes and initiatives aimed at developing students’ capabilities and enhancing their participation and creativity.
