AArU Secretary-General Participates in EAIE Conference and Exhibition

H.E. Prof. Dr. Amr Ezzat Salama, Secretary-General of the Association of Arab Universities (AArU), participated in the EAIE Conference and Exhibition, held in Glasgow, United Kingdom, from 8–11 September 2026, bringing together a wide range of higher education institutions and international academic stakeholders.

AArU’s participation reflects its commitment to strengthening its presence in international higher education platforms and expanding its network of partnerships with institutions, associations, and organizations working in higher education and internationalization.

During the conference, H.E. Prof. Dr. Salama held a number of meetings with the conference organizers and representatives of the European Association for International Education (EAIE). Discussions focused on strengthening cooperation, exploring opportunities for joint engagement, and enhancing the presence and visibility of Arab universities in international higher education and internationalization initiatives.

The meetings also addressed preparations for AArU’s participation in the 2027 EAIE Conference in Lisbon, Portugal, including the possibility of establishing a dedicated Arab Universities Pavilion. The pavilion would provide Arab universities with an opportunity to showcase their academic programs, initiatives, and institutional experiences, while creating further opportunities for direct engagement with international universities and higher education organizations.

During the exhibition, H.E. Prof. Dr. Salama also visited the booths of participating Arab universities and met with their representatives, reaffirming AArU’s commitment to supporting the participation of its member universities in major international higher education platforms and to creating greater opportunities for international engagement, cooperation, and academic partnerships.

AArU’s participation in EAIE reflects its continued commitment to advancing the internationalization of Arab universities, strengthening their visibility on the global higher education stage, and opening new avenues for academic and institutional cooperation and the exchange of expertise.
