AArU Secretary-General Participates in SDSN Egypt Meetings

H.E. Prof. Dr. Amr Ezzat Salama, Secretary-General of the Association of Arab Universities (AArU), participated in the meetings of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) Egypt, hosted by the John D. Gerhart Center for Philanthropy, Civic Engagement and Responsible Business at The American University in Cairo (AUC), in collaboration with Galala University, bringing together leading experts, academic leaders, and representatives of institutions working in sustainable development.
Prof. Salama’s participation reflects AArU’s commitment to strengthening its engagement and cooperation with international networks and initiatives advancing sustainable development, while expanding opportunities for collaboration between Arab universities, academic institutions, and global networks.
As part of the meetings, Prof. Salama participated in the SDSN Egypt Advisory Board Meeting, which brought together leading experts and policymakers to discuss the network’s strategy, priorities, and direction for the coming three years.
The meeting included Prof. Ali Aouni, Director of the Gerhart Center at AUC; Mr. Youssef Nassef, Director of the Adaptation Division at the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC); Dr. Maged Samy Nagreb, Deputy Chair of SDSN Egypt and Director of the Architectural Design and Digital Architecture Program at Galala University; and Dr. Hala Helmy El-Said, Economic Advisor to the President of Egypt, former Minister of Planning and Economic Development, and University Counselor at AUC.
Through this engagement, AArU continues to promote the role of Arab universities in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), strengthening international partnerships, and facilitating the exchange of knowledge and best practices across the higher education sector.
