As part of the Association of Arab Universities’ (AArU) commitment to strengthening cooperation between Arab universities and investment and development institutions, and expanding Arab, African, and international partnerships, H.E. Prof. Amr Ezzat Salama, Secretary-General of AArU, participated in the 29th Arab-African Investment and International Cooperation Summit, held in Luxor, Egypt, on 18–19 October 2026.
During his participation, Prof. Salama highlighted AArU’s role in advancing academic and scientific cooperation and strengthening partnerships between Arab universities and academic, development, and investment institutions at regional and international levels. He emphasized the potential of the Association’s extensive academic network to mobilize scientific expertise, research capabilities, and human capital in support of sustainable development and investment.
He called for positioning universities as regional centres of expertise capable of providing specialized studies, market analysis, technical consultancy, feasibility assessments, and evaluations of the economic and environmental impact of investment projects, thereby supporting evidence-based decision-making.
Prof. Salama stressed that sustainable investment extends beyond financial capital to include investment in people, knowledge, and institutions capable of translating research and ideas into practical applications, viable projects, and employment opportunities. He underscored the importance of stronger collaboration among investors, universities, AArU, and African partners to build sustainable economic and scientific partnerships and unlock new opportunities for future generations.
AArU’s participation reflects its ongoing commitment to expanding partnerships with economic, investment, and development institutions and strengthening the role of Arab universities as active contributors to development, innovation, and the knowledge-based economy.
