Association of Arab Universities and University of Sharjah Discuss Preparations for the 58th General Conference

As part of the ongoing preparations for the 58th General Conference of the Association of Arab Universities (AArU)H.E. Prof. Anas Rateb Al-Saud, Executive Director of AArU, and Mr. Ziad Amara, Director of International Relations, paid a working visit to the University of Sharjah to discuss and follow up on the arrangements and preparations for hosting the Conference, scheduled to take place on 25–26 November 2026under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Ruler of the Emirate of Sharjah and Member of the Supreme Council of the United Arab Emirates.
During the visit, the AArU delegation met with Prof. Hussein Al-Mahdi, Dean of Academic Support Services at the University of Sharjah, to discuss the various organizational, logistical, and technical aspects related to hosting the Conference, as well as the preparations required to ensure the successful organization of this major Arab academic event, in a manner that reflects the University of Sharjah’s distinguished academic standing and its active role in advancing higher education and scientific research across the Arab world.
Both sides emphasized the importance of maintaining close coordination and cooperation throughout the coming period to ensure the successful delivery of the 58th General Conference, which brings together leaders and representatives of Arab universities and serves as an important platform for dialogue, the exchange of expertise and perspectives, and discussion of key issues and challenges facing higher education and scientific research in the Arab region.
At the conclusion of the visit, the Association of Arab Universities delegation expressed its sincere appreciation to the University of Sharjah for its warm welcome, valued cooperation, and efforts in preparing to host the Conference. The delegation also commended the University’s continued support for AArU’s activities and events, and its commitment to contributing to the success of this important Arab academic gathering.
The Association of Arab Universities looks forward to continuing its close collaboration with the University of Sharjah in preparation for the 58th General Conference, further strengthening their partnership and advancing joint efforts to promote Arab cooperation in higher education and scientific research and foster greater collaboration and integration among Arab universities.
