Association of Arab Universities Holds Online Training Course for Libyan Universities on Educational Technology and Instructional Design
The Association of Arab Universities (AArU), in cooperation with the Libyan Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, held an online training course for Libyan universities and academic staff entitled “Educational Technology and Instructional Design for Online and Blended Courses.”
The course aimed to strengthen participants’ skills in e-learning and instructional design, and enhance universities’ capacity to use modern technologies and artificial intelligence to improve teaching and learning outcomes.
Ms. Lina Al-Bitar, Director General of AArU, opened the course, welcoming participants and highlighting the importance of specialized training in building academic capacity, exchanging expertise and best practices, and supporting universities in adapting to rapid technological developments.
Representing the Libyan Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Abdul Basit Mohammed Karima, Director of the Ministry’s International Cooperation Office, also addressed the opening session. He welcomed the participants and commended the cooperation with AArU in advancing e-learning and instructional design in Libyan higher education.
The training was delivered by Dr. Ashraf Nirokh, an expert in e-learning and educational technology. The course covered online and blended learning, instructional design, learning outcomes, assessment methods, interactive e-learning strategies, lifelong learning, and applications of artificial intelligence in education.
Participants also explored practical approaches to using AI in course design, educational content development, and enhancing the learning experience.
The course forms part of AArU’s efforts to strengthen academic cooperation and capacity building in digital education, supporting Libyan universities and their academic staff in integrating technology and AI into teaching and learning, and contributing to the development of higher education and alignment with global educational trends.
