The Association of Arab Universities hosted the 58th Regular Session of the Higher Coordination Committee for Joint Arab Action, held in Amman, Jordan, with the participation of representatives from 28 specialized Arab organizations and institutions operating under the framework of Joint Arab Action.
These meetings were convened as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen coordination and integration among specialized Arab organizations and to follow up on the implementation of resolutions and recommendations adopted during previous sessions of the Committee. Such efforts contribute to advancing Joint Arab Action and supporting the achievement of sustainable development goals across the Arab region.
The meetings addressed a number of strategic issues included on the agenda, most notably the follow-up on the implementation of decisions from the previous session of the Committee, a review of the outcomes of the First Annual Arab Forum on Artificial Intelligence, and discussions on mechanisms for establishing an Arab Observatory for Artificial Intelligence based on big data. Participants also examined issues related to Arab trade integration, energy and food security, digital transformation, artificial intelligence governance, and the work plans of joint Arab organizations and institutions.
In addition, the meetings discussed the Arab Platform for Sustainable Development, the Arab Vision 2045, and several organizational matters aimed at enhancing and developing the Joint Arab Action system.
In his remarks, H.E. Prof. Amr Ezzat Salama, Secretary-General of the Association of Arab Universities, underscored the pivotal role played by the Higher Coordination Committee for Joint Arab Action in unifying Arab efforts and strengthening cooperation among specialized organizations. He emphasized the importance of keeping pace with regional and international developments while contributing to sustainable development and prosperity for Arab societies.
These meetings reflect the commitment of specialized Arab organizations to enhancing cooperation and integration, developing joint initiatives and projects that serve the development priorities of the Arab world, and supporting the creation of a more sustainable and resilient Arab future capable of addressing current and emerging challenges.
