Association of Arab Universities Participates in the International Conference for Students and Young Professionals in Jordan

H.E. Prof. Amr Ezzat Salama, Secretary-General of the Association of Arab Universities (AArU), participated in the International Conference for Students and Young Professionals in Jordan, held at the Cultural Palace in Amman. The conference was jointly organized by Al-Ahliyya Amman University and the IEEE Jordan Section under the theme “Innovation Where Investigation Meets,” bringing together a distinguished group of academics, researchers, students, and young professionals.
The Secretary-General was accompanied by Ms. Lina Al-Bitar, Director General of the Association of Arab Universities.
In his remarks during the opening session, Prof. Amr Ezzat Salama emphasized that investing in youth, scientific research, and innovation is a fundamental pillar for addressing development challenges and building a sustainable future in the Arab region. He called for stronger integration between higher education, scientific research, and innovation, and for transforming knowledge and research outcomes into solutions and projects that serve society and contribute to sustainable development.
The Secretary-General highlighted the pivotal role of Arab universities in empowering young people, nurturing their talents and ideas, and providing an academic and research environment that fosters creativity and innovation. He stressed the importance of moving beyond knowledge exchange toward co-creating knowledge through effective partnerships among universities, research centers, the business sector, and relevant institutions.
Prof. Salama also highlighted the role of the Arab Council for Sustainable Development, one of the Arab councils established under the Association of Arab Universities, in strengthening cooperation among universities, researchers, youth, businesses, and policymakers. He underscored the Council’s role in directing scientific research and innovation toward sustainable development priorities and transforming challenges into practical initiatives and projects.
The Association of Arab Universities places support for youth, scientific research and innovation, and the advancement of Arab academic cooperation among its top priorities. AArU continues to expand partnerships between Arab universities and institutions across different sectors, strengthening the capacity of universities to produce knowledge and harness it in support of development and the future of the Arab region.
