Association of Arab Universities Participates in the World Peoples’ Assembly in Moscow

The Association of Arab Universities (AArU) participated in the World Peoples’ Assembly held in Moscow, bringing together international figures and representatives of institutions, organizations, and universities from around the world to discuss the future of international cooperation in education and science and the role of technology in shaping the future of societies.
AArU was represented by H.E. Prof. Dr. Amr Ezzat Salama, Secretary-General of AArU, and Ms. Lina Al-Bitar, Director General of Administration.
H.E. Prof. Salama spoke during the session “International Organizations: Effective Partnership in Science and Education,” highlighting the importance of strengthening international partnerships in education and research. He emphasized that today’s global challenges require cooperation that goes beyond formal agreements towards practical, measurable programmes and initiatives.
He also highlighted opportunities for collaboration in joint research, academic mobility, joint educational programmes, scholarships, laboratories, innovation, and knowledge exchange, while stressing the importance of supporting universities and researchers in fragile and crisis-affected environments.
In a strategic session titled “Modern Educational Technologies – A Strategic Resource for the New Global System,” H.E. Prof. Salama also chaired the session, addressing the impact of artificial intelligence, digital technologies, automation, and big data on education, work, and society.
His discussion focused on five key priorities: preparing students for a changing world of work; responsible use of AI; reducing the digital divide; preserving the human dimension of education; and strengthening international cooperation.
H.E. Prof. Salama emphasized that educational technology is no longer simply a tool for improving learning, but an increasingly strategic resource for development—expanding access to education, strengthening student and researcher skills, and advancing digital content while keeping educators, universities, and people at the heart of the educational process.
AArU’s participation reflects its commitment to strengthening international engagement, expanding academic and scientific partnerships, and contributing to the global dialogue on the future of education, research, and technology.
