Executive Director of the Association of Arab Universities Delivers Lecture on the Role of the Association in Arab Integration for Enhancing the Quality of Higher Education

Professor Anas Rateb Al-Saud, Executive Director of the Association of Arab Universities (AArU), delivered a lecture hosted by the Gulf Network for Quality Assurance in Higher Education entitled “The Role of the Association of Arab Universities in Arab Integration for Enhancing the Quality of Higher Education.” The lecture was conducted via Zoom and attended by a distinguished group of academics, experts, and stakeholders interested in higher education and quality assurance issues across the Arab world.

During the lecture, Prof. Al-Saud highlighted the Association’s efforts in supporting the advancement of Arab higher education and strengthening integration and cooperation among Arab universities and academic institutions. He emphasized that the Association continuously works to develop initiatives and programs that contribute to improving the quality of higher education and achieving academic and research excellence in line with rapidly evolving global trends.

He also stressed the importance of unifying Arab efforts in the fields of academic accreditation and quality assurance, as well as promoting the exchange of expertise and best practices among Arab universities. Such collaboration, he noted, enhances the competitiveness of Arab higher education institutions at both regional and international levels and contributes to improving educational outcomes and scientific research.

The lecture further addressed the current state of higher education quality in Arab countries amid contemporary challenges, as well as the role of the Association of Arab Universities in developing regional quality standards and strengthening academic and research collaboration among Arab universities. In addition, future prospects for Arab cooperation in supporting the international rankings of Arab universities were discussed.

The session was moderated by Dr. Badr bin Saif Al Kindi, Director of the Office of the Gulf Network for Quality Assurance in Higher Education. The lecture witnessed active engagement from participants, who discussed a number of issues related to the development of higher education and the promotion of a culture of quality and institutional excellence within Arab universities.

This lecture comes as part of the Association of Arab Universities’ commitment to strengthening strategic partnerships with specialized Arab institutions and supporting initiatives that contribute to the advancement of higher education and scientific research systems throughout the Arab world.
