Participation of the Association of Arab Universities in the 12th Economic Conference: Digital Economy and Governance in the Era of Artificial Intelligence

As part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen academic cooperation and support digital transformation across higher education and research institutions, the Association of Arab Universities (AArU) participated on Saturday, 22 August 2026, in the 12th Economic Conference: “Digital Economy and Governance in the Era of Artificial Intelligence,” organized by the Jordanian Society for Scientific Research, Entrepreneurship and Creativity, in cooperation with Al-Zaytoonah University of Jordan, in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

The conference was inaugurated by H.E. Prof. Adnan Badran, former Prime Minister of Jordan, and brought together a distinguished group of academics, researchers, experts, and policymakers. Discussions focused on the major transformations taking place in the digital economy, the impact of rapid advances in artificial intelligence technologies across various sectors, as well as the challenges and opportunities associated with governance and technological transformation.

The Association of Arab Universities was represented at this important academic event by Prof. Waleed Salameh, AArU Advisor, and Dr. Najm Al-Essawi, Head of the Research and Studies Department. Their participation contributed to strengthening the Association’s presence in discussions addressing the future of higher education, scientific research, and the knowledge economy in the Arab region.
