Participation of the Association of Arab Universities in the Executive Committee Meeting of AARINENA

Professor Dr. Anas Ratib Al-Soud, Executive Director of the Association of Arab Universities, participated in the Executive Committee meeting of the Association of Agricultural Research Institutions in the Near East and North Africa (AARINENA), held on Thursday, 15 May 2026, in Izmir, Türkiye, hosted by the International Agricultural Research and Training Center (UTAEM), with the participation of a distinguished group of leaders, experts, and representatives of international and regional institutions specialized in agricultural research and sustainable development.

The meeting addressed a number of key issues related to strengthening agricultural research cooperation and exchanging expertise among regional and international institutions. It also reviewed strategic initiatives and partnerships aimed at supporting agricultural innovation, enhancing food security, and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals in the Near East and North Africa region. In addition, the meeting included dialogue sessions and presentations delivered by leading international organizations in the field of agricultural research.

In this context, participants emphasized the importance of strengthening integration between agricultural research institutions and universities in the region, highlighting the role of the Association of Arab Universities in supporting scientific and academic cooperation, fostering joint research partnerships, and developing programs and initiatives that link scientific research with sustainable development, thereby enhancing food security and advancing innovation pathways across the Arab region.
