Secretary-General of the Association of Arab Universities Participates in the Conference on Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Cairo

H.E. Prof. Amr Ezzat Salama, Secretary-General of the Association of Arab Universities, participated in the proceedings of the 8th International Conference on Quality Assurance and Accreditation, organized by the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education, under the theme: “Micro-Credentials and the National Qualifications Framework: Bridges Across Borders.”
In this context, His Excellency emphasized that enhancing the quality of higher education and strengthening its alignment with labor market needs represent a strategic priority, ensuring the preparation of graduates equipped with the skills and competencies required to compete in rapidly evolving job markets. He further noted that the challenge is no longer limited to access to education, but rather lies in the quality and effectiveness of learning outcomes and their ability to keep pace with accelerating economic transformations, highlighting an increasing focus on applied skills development, innovation, and the consolidation of a culture of lifelong learning.
Prof. Salama also stressed the importance of transitioning towards flexible, skills-based education models, strengthening partnerships with the labor market, and adopting micro-credentials, in addition to advancing digital transformation, promoting applied scientific research, reinforcing good governance practices, and investing in capacity building for faculty members.
Through active participation in conferences and events dedicated to quality in education, the Association of Arab Universities continues to play its pivotal role in supporting and coordinating efforts among Arab universities, enhancing academic and research cooperation, and developing impactful initiatives in the fields of quality assurance, accreditation, and ranking. This contributes to advancing the Arab higher education system and strengthening its competitiveness and international presence.
