On the morning of Thursday, 12 February 2026, the Association of Arab Universities held a virtual workshop titled “Reinventing Education and University Services: VIBE Coding and Artificial Intelligence,” in cooperation with Abu Dhabi University. The workshop was delivered by Professor Dr. Hamad Odhabi, Vice Chancellor of Abu Dhabi University for Artificial Intelligence and Operational Excellence. He addressed the role of artificial intelligence and VIBE coding in driving qualitative transformation in higher education institutions, with broad participation from academics and specialists representing universities across the Arab region.
The workshop highlighted how universities can transition from traditional digitization to achieving operational excellence by deploying AI technologies across multiple domains. Key areas included enhancing and personalizing the student experience, developing smarter assessment systems, strengthening quality assurance frameworks, modeling and optimizing administrative processes, enabling data-driven decision-making, and building flexible systems through VIBE coding to support AI-powered university services.
During the workshop, Professor Dr. Odhabi emphasized that the systematic and structured use of artificial intelligence transforms it into a strategic capability that accelerates innovation and improves institutional performance, rather than merely serving as a supporting technical tool.
The session witnessed notable engagement from participants, who enriched the discussion by sharing real-world challenges and practical experiences from their institutions across various Arab countries. This exchange strengthened the sharing of expertise and perspectives on the future of higher education in the region.
This event reflects the Association of Arab Universities’ commitment to supporting digital transformation initiatives and fostering regional cooperation to advance higher education systems in the Arab world, as well as its ongoing efforts to promote integration and development across the Arab higher education sector.
