The Association of Arab Universities Participates in Preparations for the Fourth Interregional Dialogue on Education and Development

Professor Dr. Anas Rateb Al-Saud, Executive Director of the Association of Arab Universities, participated in the preparatory coordination meeting for the Fourth Interregional Dialogue on Education and Development, held in Barcelona, Spain, from 14–15 May 2026, with the participation of a number of key partners and organising institutions from various international regions.

The meeting is part of the ongoing preparations for the international dialogue scheduled to take place in December 2026. Participants discussed several strategic areas related to the development of the dialogue agenda, the identification of shared priorities, coordination mechanisms among partners, as well as the formulation of key messages and the identification of target participants.

The meeting also reviewed the outcomes of previous editions of the interregional dialogue and followed up on their implementation, in addition to discussing the priorities of the African Union Commission (AUC), the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), and Arab countries, as well as the organisational and preparatory aspects of the upcoming dialogue.

During his participation, Professor Dr. Anas Al-Saud emphasised the importance of strengthening dialogue and cooperation among different international regions, in support of education and development issues, and in building effective partnerships that contribute to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals and enhance academic and institutional cooperation at the international level.

The participation of the Association of Arab Universities in this meeting reflects its commitment to expanding international cooperation and strengthening engagement with academic, regional, and international institutions, thereby supporting the advancement of higher education and scientific research, and contributing to the exchange of expertise and the building of partnerships that serve Arab universities and their societies.
