The Association of Arab Universities Signs MoU with the Arab Tourism Organization

In a strategic step to strengthen Arab cooperation in higher education and tourism, the Association of Arab Universities has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Arab Tourism Organization. The agreement was concluded on the sidelines of the Higher Coordination Committee meetings hosted by the Association in Amman, Jordan.
The MoU aims to advance tourism education, enhance academic and scientific research, and prepare qualified Arab talent aligned with labor market needs while contributing to sustainable development across the Arab region.
The agreement was signed on behalf of the Association of Arab Universities by H.E. Prof. Dr. Amr Ezzat Salama, Secretary General, and on behalf of the Arab Tourism Organization by H.E. Prof. Dr. Bandar bin Fahd Al Fahid, President of the Organization.
The partnership establishes a strategic framework for cooperation in developing specialized tourism programs, promoting joint research, exchanging academic expertise, and supporting the establishment of dedicated colleges and departments. It also includes joint training initiatives to strengthen workforce readiness.
Further areas of collaboration include curriculum development aligned with industry needs, faculty and student exchange, organization of conferences and workshops, and the establishment of incubators and accelerators to support innovation and entrepreneurship in tourism and hospitality.
This agreement reflects a shared commitment to advancing Arab academic collaboration and strengthening the role of universities in supporting sustainable development and shaping the future of the tourism sector in the Arab world.
