The Second Meeting of the Executive Council of the Association of Arab Universities – 57th Session

The Executive Council of the Association of Arab Universities held its second meeting for the 57th General Conference session today, Wednesday, 6 May 2026, via video conferencing (Zoom), with the participation of His Excellencies and Presidents of Arab universities who are members of the Council.

The Council discussed a number of strategic items on its agenda, most notably the determination of the date for the 58th General Conference of the Association, which had been postponed in light of the current regional circumstances and the evolving developments across the region. The meeting also addressed external audit matters, along with relevant organizational and administrative follow-up issues.

This meeting comes within the framework of the Association of Arab Universities’ ongoing efforts to strengthen joint Arab academic cooperation, enhance coordination and consultation among Arab universities, and contribute to the advancement of higher education and scientific research systems, while supporting Arab universities in addressing current challenges and achieving sustainable institutional development across the Arab region.
