The Secretary-General of the Association of Arab Universities Receives the President of Palestine Ahliya University

His Excellency Prof. Dr. Amr Ezzat Salama, Secretary-General of the Association of Arab Universities, received at the headquarters of the Association in the Jordanian capital, Amman, Prof. Dr. Imad Al-Zeer, President of Palestine Ahliya University and President of the Arab Council for Academic Exchange, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Anas Ratib Al-Soud, Executive Director of the Association, Prof. Dr. Nasser Jaradat, Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies at Palestine Ahliya University, and Ms. Lina Al-Bitar, Director of General Administration at the Association.
During the meeting, both sides discussed prospects for cooperation between the Association of Arab Universities and Palestine Ahliya University, and reviewed a number of issues of mutual interest related to the development of higher education and scientific research in the Arab world. The meeting also highlighted ongoing efforts to support Palestinian universities, strengthen their resilience, and ensure the continuity of their academic mission amid current challenges.
The discussions further addressed the work of the Arab Council for Academic Exchange, one of the scientific councils established under the Association of Arab Universities. The Council plays a key role in enhancing scientific and academic cooperation among Arab universities, expanding opportunities for academic and research exchange, and building effective partnerships with higher education institutions at both regional and international levels. It is worth noting that the Council is headquartered at Palestine Ahliya University and aims to promote scientific cooperation, facilitate academic and research exchange, and build sustainable networks and partnerships among Arab universities.
His Excellency the Secretary-General reaffirmed the Association’s commitment to supporting initiatives that contribute to the development of Arab higher education and to strengthening academic integration among Arab universities. He also commended the Council’s role in providing an institutional platform for the exchange of expertise and for expanding areas of joint scientific cooperation.
The two sides reviewed a number of initiatives and programs implemented by the Council, including the promotion of joint research projects, the exchange of faculty members and researchers, the development of institutional networking mechanisms among Arab universities, as well as the support of both in-person and virtual academic exchange models in line with the rapid developments in the higher education sector.
The Association of Arab Universities reiterated its commitment to supporting its member universities, enhancing their academic and research capacities, and empowering them to fulfill their scientific and developmental mission, thereby contributing to the advancement of higher education across the Arab world and strengthening the regional and international presence of Arab universities.
