H.E. Prof. Amr Ezzat Salama, Secretary General of the Association of Arab Universities (AArU), received a high-level delegation from the World Peoples Organization at the Association’s General Secretariat headquarters, headed by H.E. Mr. Andrey Belyaninov, Secretary General of the Organization. The visit aimed to strengthen international cooperation and expand partnerships that support higher education and scientific research.
The delegation included Ms. Svetlana Smirnova, Chairperson of the Supreme Advisory Council, and Dr. Yasser Al-Lahham, Advisor to the Secretary General. The meeting was attended by Ms. Lina Al-Bitar, Director of General Administration, and Mr. Mohamed Zied Amara, Director of International Cooperation at AArU.
H.E. Prof. Salama welcomed the visiting delegation and emphasized AArU’s commitment to strengthening international relations and developing strategic partnerships with global organizations and institutions. He highlighted the importance of supporting Arab universities, promoting knowledge exchange, and enhancing academic and cultural cooperation in line with global developments in higher education.
Mr. Belyaninov praised the leading role of AArU in supporting Arab higher education institutions and expressed the World Peoples Organization’s interest in developing strategic cooperation with AArU in the fields of education, research, culture, and joint initiatives of mutual interest.
The meeting discussed future areas of cooperation, including the organization of international forums and events, the promotion of academic and cultural exchange, and strengthening connections between Arab universities and international educational institutions, contributing to dialogue, mutual understanding, and cooperation among peoples.
Both sides reaffirmed the importance of continued coordination and agreed to transform areas of cooperation into practical programs and initiatives that serve the academic community and enhance the global presence of Arab universities.
