H.E. Prof. Dr. Amr Ezzat Salama, Secretary General of the Association of Arab Universities (AArU), inaugurated the 31st Arab Forum for Student Training Exchange Among Universities, organized by the Arab Council for Student Training and Creativity under AArU, held from 28–30 June 2026 at Misr University for Science and Technology in Egypt, with the participation of senior representatives and leaders of Arab universities.
The forum witnessed the participation of AArU representatives, including Prof. Dr. Anas Ratib Al-Saud, Executive Director of the Association, who delivered a presentation titled “Student Mobility and Its Impact on University Rankings,” and Ms. Lina Al-Bitar, Director of Administration at AArU, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen coordination with participating academic institutions.
In his opening remarks, the Secretary General emphasized that the forum has become a well-established Arab platform for knowledge exchange, enabling students to transition from academic learning to practical experience, thereby enhancing their readiness for evolving labor market demands.
He expressed his sincere appreciation to Misr University for Science and Technology for hosting this distinguished Arab event, commending the Arab Council for Student Training and Creativity—one of AArU’s specialized councils—which has been advancing its mission since 1992 to support Arab students and foster training, innovation, and connectivity among them.
He highlighted that over more than three decades, the Council has demonstrated that joint Arab training is not a supplementary activity, but a core pillar of capacity-building, providing thousands of training opportunities and expanding academic and cultural exchange among Arab youth.
He also stressed that rapid global shifts driven by artificial intelligence and the digital economy require higher education institutions to prioritize future skills, strengthen applied learning, and bridge theoretical knowledge with practical experience, enabling students to acquire professional and digital competencies before graduation.
In this context, Prof. Anas Ratib Al-Soud delivered his presentation, highlighting the role of international student mobility in enhancing the competitiveness of Arab universities and improving their positions in global rankings through higher academic quality, openness, and international partnerships.
The forum reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen cooperation among Arab universities and enhance practical training mechanisms for students, contributing to improved higher education quality, graduate employability, and deeper academic integration across the Arab region.
